Meet SHANE

Shane Rutkowski, MS, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)®
Specializing in Trigger Point Acupuncture, Sports Acupuncture, Hyper Mobility Care, and Stress-Related Disorders

Shane is a former professional dancer from New York City. During his performance career, he found acupuncture allowed him to recover from injuries and surgeries quickly and efficiently. Shane has began practicing since 2019, after receiving his Masters degree from Tri-State College of Acupuncture.

Balancing Western orthopedic principles through the lens of East Asian Medicine, Shane is trained in multiple styles of acupuncture and uses an integrative approach to custom-tailor every treatment for each individual.

As both an athlete and a cancer survivor, Shane respects and understands how powerful and effective treating the whole person can be when helping someone heal.

Shane has been honored to work with such organizations as the Radio City Rockettes, Peloton, Barry’s, countless Broadway shows, professional dance companies, and Olympic-level athletes and is excited to offer and educate his patients on his integrative style of acupuncture.

TREATMENT

Does acupuncture treat…

Yes and no. Acupuncture treats people. We look for patterns. This 3000-year-old system of medicine looks at and treats people in their environment. Yes, people have neck pain, knee pain, back pain, stress, TMJ, migraines, allergies, insomnia, autoimmune disorders, infertility, menstrual issues, etc. But the chief complaint doesn’t dictate the treatment— the individual does. Each treatment is a three-way conversation between the patient, their body, and the practitioner. If you have specific questions on whether or not acupuncture could help you. Please fill out a patient inquiry form.

More than just needles.

Many places charge extra for ancillary services such as cupping, gua sha, e-stim, moxibustion, or manual therapy/bodywork. But at Sláinte each treatment is custom tailored to the patient. Every modality is included in one rate and the best treatment plan for you is made only with full informed consent. During your appointment, there’s no patient overlap. That means the time is dedicated to you and figuring out how to get you back to doing what you love. Working with so many tools and utilizing an integrative style of acupuncture allows each treatment to flow organically based on real-time feedback from the body.

Do you take Insurance?

While we are out of network with all insurance companies, this allows us the freedom to do all of the things we listed above and not have treatment dictated by insurance. I can provide a superbill if you want to submit to your insurance to see if they'll reimburse you. We also accept HSA/FSA cards as payment. Superbills can be used to apply for reimbursement for these types of accounts as well.
